Why do some people get confused about 'promiscuity' and cheating?

I think the umption is that a person who has been ually promiscuous when single is likely to continue being promiscuous after marriage. I don't believe myself that it follows. If you are really fond of your spouse, you won't want to jeopardise your marriage by being unfaithful, whatever you may have done when single. I think how much you care for your spouse is more significant than what you did when you were single. Someone who was pure as the driven snow before marriage may fall for another person if they are not sufficiently attached to their spouse. I was pretty promiscuous when I was young, but I've been faithful to my husband now for 23 years, and wasn't interested in being unfaithful even when I was still young and could have found the opportunities quite easily.
